Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Thank you for checking out Outdoorfrontiers. Privacy policies are usually a wall of legal text nobody reads, so we've tried to keep this one plain and actually useful. Here's what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

Outdoorfrontiers is a platform connecting former office employees with outdoor, travel and hybrid jobs abroad, starting in New Zealand. Outdoorfrontiers is based in the Netherlands.

Outdoorfrontiers is live: you can join our waitlist to stay updated, or create an employee or business account to use the full platform (employee profiles and business listings). This policy covers what we collect through both the waitlist and the full platform.

1. Who is this policy for?

This policy applies to anyone who interacts with Outdoorfrontiers, whether you've joined the waitlist, follow us on social media, or signed up as an employee or a business. By joining our waitlist or creating an account, you agree to this privacy policy.

2. What information do we collect?

If you join our waitlist

When you join our email list via the website we collect:

  • Email address

We may also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit outdoorfrontiers.co, such as your IP address, browser type, and general location, this comes through Cloudflare, which runs and protects our website (see Section 5).

If you create an account

Employees

Required to make an account:

  • First and last name
  • Country you're from
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password (stored securely — we can't see your actual password)
  • About me section

Businesses

  • Full name
  • Business name
  • Email address
  • Location
  • Job sector / category

3. Why do we collect this information?

We only collect what we actually need to make Outdoorfrontiers work:

  • Email address so we can keep you updated and verify you're a real person
  • Name, country, and date of birth so businesses know who they're potentially hiring, and to confirm you meet the working holiday visa age range
  • Phone number so businesses can reach you directly once you're matched
  • Profile info (about me, skills, work experience, photos) to help you stand out and give businesses a real sense of who you are
  • Business details so we know who's posting roles, can keep things legit, and can stay in touch
  • Password so you can log back into your account securely
  • Basic technical data (via Cloudflare) to keep the site running, secure, and fast

4. Who can see your information?

If you've only joined our waitlist, your email address is only visible to us, it's used to send you updates and isn't shared with anyone else.

If you create an account, the information you add to your profile (name, work experience, photos, etc.) is visible to businesses using the platform, which is the point of the platform, we want businesses to find you. Businesses' listing information is visible to employees browsing roles.

We do not sell your information to anyone, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Cookies and other tools

Our website runs on Cloudflare, which handles hosting, security, and performance. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies to keep the site running smoothly, protect against abuse, and understand basic site traffic.

Our email list is also managed in Cloudflare, which handles delivery of our newsletter and updates.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you turn them off.

6. Where is your data stored?

Outdoorfrontiers is based in the Netherlands, and your data is handled in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU privacy law that gives you strong rights over your personal information.

Because Outdoorfrontiers connects workers with businesses in New Zealand, we also take the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 into account for any data relating to our NZ business partners.

Data may be processed or stored via our service providers (currently Cloudflare), which may involve servers outside the Netherlands. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards required under GDPR.

7. How long do we keep your data?

We keep waitlist and account data for as long as your account is active, or for as long as we're in touch with you (for example, if you're on our email list). If you've had no activity for an extended period, we may retain your data for up to 10 years.

If you'd like your data deleted sooner, just email us and we'll sort it out, see Section 9.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access, ask us what information we hold about you
  • Correction, ask us to fix anything that's wrong
  • Deletion, ask us to delete your account and data
  • Objection, ask us to stop using your data in a certain way
  • Restriction, ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent, where we rely on your consent (like the email list), you can withdraw it at any time

To use any of these rights, email us at info@outdoorfrontiers.co and we'll help you out.
